There is a fig tree in the rainforest outside my office, which can be a bit of a distraction. This week I photographed a Double-eyed Fig-parrot and a Fig Bird (see below). A Wompoo Fruit-Dove made an appearance, but was very shy, so I didn’t get a photo this time.

I could hear a metallic whirring call and tracked it down to a cute immature fig-parrot. You can just hear it in the video below if you ignore the other insect and bird noises. In real life the call was very loud! Usually the Double-eyed Fig-Parrots are hard to spot, but this little one had a distinctive head bopping thing going on.
