I spent an hour or so watching a couple of juvenile Victoria’s Riflebirds perfecting their dance moves. They were on two posts, about 3 meters apart, displaying for anything that flew past. A couple of adult females stopped by for a look, and apart from the first female that was highly critical, it seemed to me that they gave a few encouraging chirps. The two juveniles also danced for each other. But the finale was amazing – an adult male flew in to usurp those youngsters, and show how it is really done!
