Sphecotheres vieilloti

The male Figbird has distinctive, bare red skin around the eye, and here in the Tropical North, bright yellow on the underbody.  The females have grey around the eye, and brown streaks underneath.

They live in small groups, and then after breeding in larger flocks of more than 20 .Figs are obviously a favourite, although they will feed on most soft fruits and berries in canopy trees. Insects are also important components of their diet.
